Hello ladies,
Now that we are almost half way through the year, this is the perfect time to jump in and do a mid-year reset and level up living your best life now. Find a quiet place to relax and write out your goals and what YOU want to take to the next level preparing for the last two quarters of this year. You don't have to wait until July, this is the perfect time to preplan what you want the last two quarters of this year to look like. I have said it before, God is in control of everything, but He put us in charge of our life. So, let’s say “thank you” by doing a mental and emotional reset and leveling up. Thomas Jefferson was credited with saying “if you want something you’ve never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.” Here are several suggestions for doing something perhaps you’ve never done. And if you have done them, take it to the next level and stretch yourself by doing it consistently and with a purpose to get even greater results. Let’s get started.
Forgive yourself.
Research has shown that those who practice self-forgiveness have better mental and emotional well-being, more positive attitudes, and healthier relationships. A related outcome ties self-compassion with higher levels of success, productivity, focus, and concentration.
Let go of the hurt and pain from the past.
When you let go of the hurt and pain from your past it helps you move forward with your life. It starts your healing process. Letting go also helps you remove anger and malice from your heart. You're no longer giving that person power and authority over your mind and heart. You are being set free.
Give yourself grace and permission to enjoy your life.
When you give yourself grace, you are in essence giving yourself permission to forgive your mistakes, wrong choices, and hurtful behaviors. The truth is, NO ONE IS PERFECT, not even you. The golden rule teaches us to treat people how we want to be treated, but many times we forget that we are people too. Be kind to yourself.
Play more with your children.
Science has shown that when parents play with their children, the hormone, oxytocin, is released. Oxytocin is associated with trust and relationship building. Another benefit of oxytocin is that it counteracts the effects of stress, reducing blood pressure, anxiety, and fear.
Hug and kiss your partner every day.
Science shows that kissing, hugging, snuggling, and holding hands produce more than just magical moments. They can actually boost overall health, helping you lose weight, lower blood pressure, fight off sickness, and more. Oxytocin is a chemical linked to pair bonding. The rush of oxytocin released when you kiss causes feelings of affection and attachment. Kissing your partner can improve relationship satisfaction and is extremely important in long-term relationships.
Laugh out loud a lot
Yes, it’s true: laughter is strong medicine. It draws people together in ways that trigger healthy physical and emotional changes in the body. Laughter strengthens your immune system, boosts mood, diminishes pain, and protects you from the damaging effects of stress. With so much power to heal and renew, the ability to laugh easily and frequently is a tremendous resource for surmounting problems, enhancing your relationships, and supporting both physical and emotional health. Best of all, this priceless medicine is fun, free, and easy to use. Make sure you take it multiple times a day and share it with friends and family.
Love and Blessings,
Dr. Doris
