Look For the Good

Good morning ladies. I pray your weekend was full of blessings, gratitude, and love. This morning I want to empower you to look for the good in your life. I understand we all have struggles, challenges, and people that get on our nerves, which include, family, employers, coworkers and even friends. It seems as if everyone has an opinion about what you should or could be doing to change your life. Sometimes their opinion stays on your mind, penetrates your heart, and suddenly you find yourself thinking and saying to yourself, “perhaps they are right.” “I should be married by now or be further along in my career than where I am.”

Let me encourage you and offer you some truth. You are exactly where you are supposed to be and doing what you are supposed to be doing in this season of your life. If you haven’t finish school, gotten married, had a baby or have the career that you desire, don’t stress about it or become frustrated and full of complaints. If it is meant to happen, it will happen, just keep working at it. In the meantime, until it does happen, relax, and look for the good that you already have in your life. Remember, there is always someone out there who is having it harder than you and they would love to have your life.

"Bloom where you are planted"

I heard Joel Osteen once say, "bloom where you are planted." Don’t focus on what you think you don’t have, thank God, and have a heart of gratitude for what you do have and appreciate it. Comparing yourself to others only makes you feel bad about where you are in life. Understand this, everyone moves through life at their own pace and it’s not the same as everyone else. So don’t judge your life based on what you see from others. You have no idea how long they have been working to get where they are. You don’t know the challenges, disappointments, or setbacks they went through to get there.

Therefore, focus on you. Live and enjoy your life everyday and at your own pace and you will get to where you want to be. Remember, to look for the good.

Love and Blessings,

Dr. Doris
