Courageous Hearts “Queen, Own Your Story”

Hello Queen,

I pray you have had a wonderful start to an amazing week. Today I want to share with you the importance of owning your story. Now when I say “own your story” what I mean is you have made it through many trials and tribulations that should have taken you out. But what do you notice? You are still here and standing stronger than you ever thought you would. That is worth sharing. There is a scripture that says, “Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me.” (Psalms 66:16) My beautiful sister, your story could build someone’s faith in God and bring love, joy, and peace back into their lives. Queen, you have no idea how powerful your testimony is and how it can encourage someone struggling in that area. Your story can give them hope and the strength they need to hold on another day.

I know you may think your story is embarrassing because of what you have been through. But the truth is everyone on the planet has gone through something they have kept a secret or don’t want anyone to know about for fear of being judged. That is why you don’t share your story with everyone because they will not value it or celebrate how you made it through. Nevertheless, many women are suffering in silence asking God for a sign of hope and you could be the answer to their prayers. It doesn't matter if it's an audience of one or a room of many, it's your story and someone needs to hear it, so own your story. Sis, here are five ways to help you discern when, why, and how to share your story of triumph.

Assess Emotional Readiness

  • Why: Ensure you are emotionally prepared to share your story without reliving trauma.

  • How: Ask yourself if you can speak about your experience without it bringing up intense pain or distress. If you're still healing, it might not be the right time.

 Identify the Purpose of Sharing

  • Why: Sharing should serve a purpose, whether it's for personal growth, inspiring others, or educating an audience.

  • How: Reflect on your intention. Is your goal to empower others, raise awareness, or simply connect? Knowing why you're sharing helps create an impact.

Consider Your Audience

  • Why: Tailoring your story to the right audience ensures it resonates and has the desired effect.

  • How: Think about who will benefit from hearing your story. Are they ready to receive it? Does your story meet them where they are?

 Evaluate the Platform and Timing

  • Why: The right platform and timing amplify your message and ensure it reaches the right people.

  • How: Consider whether you're sharing in a private conversation, on social media, at an event, or in a more formal setting. Ensure the timing feels right both for you and your audience.

 Own Your Story

  • Why: Sharing from a place of confidence and ownership strengthens the impact of your story.

  • How: Make sure you are comfortable with the details you want to share, and don't feel pressured to reveal more than you're ready for. Practice telling your story in a way that reflects your growth and strength.

My final thoughts:

Queen, you are beautiful! And every time God looks at you His heart smiles. God is pleased with you and your story is a testimony of your strength, resilience, and courage. It is a gift you can share with another sister by giving her hope. Never forget, "Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. (Proverbs 27:17) KJV
