I will not stay silent, so you can stay comfortable

Good morning ladies, I want to ask you a question. Have you ever been in a situation where you knew you should stand up for yourself and speak your truth, but you stayed silent to keep the peace or to avoid an argument? I have done this many times. The problem with that is you start to create a pattern of being passive aggressive. You end up having that conversation over and over again in your mind with yourself and you should be having it with the other person. You start thinking about what you should have, would have, or could have said in that moment. But now the moment has passed, and you are frustrated and angry with yourself for not speaking up.

Don’t beat yourself up about it, just learn from it.

Let it be a practice run for how you will handle things differently the next time you are faced with a similar situation. Believe me, you will face it again. Life is full of opportunities for us to change and grow. You may say to yourself, that you have been this way for years. That’s no problem. Each morning when God kisses you with life, you have been blessed with another chance to change for the better. Remember, leave your past mistakes behind, don’t worry about the future, just live to enjoy today.

When you find yourself in a situation and you have this feeling inside of you that urges you to speak your truth, that’s an opportunity for you to do it. You don’t have to scream and yell or argue, just say what you need to say and that’s all you say. Then know in your heart, you have taken the first step to being strong and courageous and living a life that brings you peace.
