Hello Queen,
I pray that you are having an awesome week and are looking forward to an enjoyable and relaxing weekend. Today I want to share with you the importance of discovering the power of your God-given identity. We live in a world that is full of shifting standards and loud voices telling us who to be and it’s easy to lose sight of who we truly are. As a Christian woman, your identity isn’t found in the mirror, a job title, a relationship status, or the approval of others, it is rooted in Christ. Sis, understanding and embracing your God-given identity is not only empowering, it is essential to living out your purpose with confidence, clarity, and peace.

You may wonder, why it matters. The reason is that your identity determines your choices, relationships, boundaries, and even your prayers. When you know who you are, you walk with greater confidence. When you don’t, you may struggle with comparison, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or even burnout. (like I did for many years) Proverbs 4:23 reminds us to “Guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” I use this scripture a lot because, for the majority of my life, I did not do that, and I suffered greatly because of it. Your sense of self is at the heart of your spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being.
It is vitally important for you to understand the difference between who culture says you are versus who God says you are. Culture tells you that you need to “find yourselves” by looking within, chasing success, or gaining validation from others. But God’s Word gives you a different blueprint, such as:
You are chosen: “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you…” (John 15:16)
You are valuable: “You are worth more than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:7)
You are loved: “I have loved you with an everlasting love…” (Jeremiah 31:3)
You are a new creation: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
If you’ve ever struggled with insecurity, shame, or confusion about who you are, you’re not alone. (Like I said earlier, I was there too) But healing and wholeness are possible. Queen, here's how to reclaim your identity in Christ:
Renew Your Mind: Romans 12:2 urges us not to conform to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Spend time in the Word daily, replacing lies with truth.
Speak Life Over Yourself: Declare what God says about you. Write affirmations rooted in scripture and speak them out loud to yourself.
Surround Yourself with Encouragers: Community matters. Connect with women who uplift and remind you of your identity in Christ. I finally understood how important it is to be with like-minded women of God. Love covers you, it does not expose your faults, mistakes, or mess-ups.
Pray Boldly: Ask God to reveal areas where you’ve believed lies and invite Him to restore your view of yourself.
When you truly understand who you are in Christ, you no longer live for the approval of others, you live from the approval of the One who created you. That freedom enables you to:
Set boundaries without guilt
Pursue your calling with boldness
Overcome fear and insecurity
Walk in joy, peace, and purpose
My Encouragement to You
My beautiful sister, you are not what you’ve been through. You are not what others have labeled you. You are not defined by your past or your mistakes. You are who God says you are fearfully and wonderfully made, called, anointed, and deeply loved. Take time today to reflect, realign, and re-root yourself in your true identity. When you know who you are in Christ, you become an unstoppable woman with an unbreakable spirit.
Love and Blessings,
Dr. Doris
