Hello Queen,
I pray you have had a wonderful day. I know we all have challenges just being a woman. However, as a Christian woman navigating the demands of life, family, work, relationships, and ministry, it can be easy to lose sight of who you are at the core. But the scripture calls us to live with wisdom, intentionality, and alignment with God's truth. My sister, while you are ministering to others, you must not neglect to take time to enter into that secret place and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you. Spending time in that sacred space helps quiet the noise of the world and gives you some time to focus on yourself. That starts with self-awareness.

What is Self-Awareness?
Self-awareness is the ability to recognize and understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and how they align with God's Word. It’s about taking an honest inventory of where you are spiritually, emotionally, and mentally so you can grow to be more like Jesus. Allow me to share with you four reasons it matters as a woman of God in your faith walk.
1. Self-Awareness Helps You Live with Integrity. When you're self-aware, you’re more likely to notice when your words or actions don’t reflect your values. The Holy Spirit can convict and guide you into truth (John 16:13), but you must be open and honest with yourself to hear His voice clearly.
2. Self-Awareness Strengthens Your Relationships Proverbs 4:23 reminds us to “guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Self-awareness allows you to examine what’s in your heart, such as, hurts, fears, assumptions, and it bring those things to God. When you’re honest about your emotions, you communicate with others in a healthier, more godly way.
3. Self-Awareness Leads to Emotional and Spiritual Growth As Paul says in Romans 12:2, “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Transformation begins when you notice harmful thought patterns, lies you’ve believed, or habits that keep you stuck, and you surrender them to God. Self-awareness creates space for healing and growth.
4. Self-Awareness Cultivates Peace and Confidence When you understand your identity in Christ and are honest about your strengths and struggles, you walk in peace. You no longer live for approval or perfection from others, but from a place of grace and trust in God’s design for you.
How to Grow in Self-Awareness
Daily Reflection: Take time each day to ask, “What am I feeling? Why? Does this align with God’s truth?” Take a moment to journal and be honest with your answers.
Invite God In: Pray Psalm 139:23-24, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”
Journaling: Write down moments when you felt emotionally charged. What triggered it? How did you respond?
Seek Wise Counsel: Surround yourself with spiritually mature women who can lovingly reflect back what they see in you.
Use Scripture as a Mirror: Let God’s Word expose and heal the places in your heart that need attention.
My Final Encouragement
Self-awareness isn’t about being self-focused, it’s about being Christ-focused. When we are in tune with ourselves, we can more fully surrender to God and walk in the freedom He designed for us. Queen, you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), embrace the journey of knowing yourself so you can live fully for Him.
Love and Blessings,
Dr. Doris
